I just purchased the new memory patriot tccd samsung(think it is cpu-z doesn't list manufacturer) 512 x2 blk which has the 2-2-2-5 which is great. I set HHT to 4 memory at 245 memory speed 1:1 and my 3dmark scores are not any better even though I have supposely gained about 300mhz on cpu.. My scores are better in Aquamark but only by a 150 pts. Should I try something different?
Thanks

Which 3DMark? 3DMark05 is mostly GPU bound, so CPU overclocking doesn't help much. 3DMark01 on a new graphics card is mostly CPU bound, so that should show a noticable difference with a CPU overclock.

Heres what you do.

Stop "playing" 3dmark and go into another game. Play it on your choice of detail settings. Then if it plays on those settings fine you know you made a wise choice.

What board are you using? What are you ram settings? your board my be using memory divider over 217

3dmark loves memory speed. You can overclock the cpu, but if your ram is running at less than stock speed you won't see any gains.

245 1:1 what timming? if it's loose 2-2-2@200 will be faster. Second this is a graphics card test not a CPU test.

My memory timings are 2-3-6-3 1t and I am using ATI 9800 pro which I can overclock has the R360 core. Currently I am not overclocking that card but do have vga silencer on that too with ram sinks.
Thanks again everyone for any suggestions

Has everybody told, 3Dmark 2003, 3Dmark2005 and Aquamark03 are video card dependente.

For you to notice, i have the exact same score on 05 and aquamark03 from 1800 to 2600mhz if the video card has the same clocks :Q

OC that card, and you will see some improvements.

2-2-2 @ 200 beats 2-3-3 @ 245 every time where it matters with A64

Try this.
245Htt like you are.

Vdimm 2.6
Memsetting 166
2-2-7-2 1T
