I have a GeForce4200 128mb running faster than 4600 spec, Pentium 2.4 with 512 1033 RDRAM, and score only 1800 on 3DMark03, what could be wrong?

Two o's. As in, "3DMark score way too low.

As for your score, that's not wrong at all. Check out Explosive Labs' review of 3D Mark 2003. I think you're thinking of 2001se. That will get you a much higher score.

Any non-DX9 card on 3dMark03 will get super low scores.

I believe you are confusing 3DMark2001 with 3dMark2003.

Thats a pretty good score for a 4200 cardfor 3d mark03. Every release of 3d mark scores different than the previous version. As your hardware improves..so does your score.

I agree to take it with a grain of salt, but if hardware makers stopped optimizing their cards for it and just optimized their cards in general, it would be a good way to gauge one card's performance against another. There's nothing wrong with synthetic benchmarks as long as you take a look at game benchmarks as well.

Your score's not that bad for 3DMark03. I did a comparison search for CPUs between 2200 and 2600 MHz with a Ti4200 and the top score was 2002 with a 2.6GHz P4. Best 2.4GHz score was 1948.
