3dmark question

2K1 seems just a little low (few hundred points) to what I've seen for a setup like that but nothing really to worry about. In 2K3 I've seen scores around 6K so it's about right give or take a hundred points or so.

I'd check the ORB for a better comparison on your scores against a simialar setup.

EDIT: My 2K1/2K3 Score even though the setup isn't the same i.e. CPU.

I wouldn't say ramsinks are worth it. You may get around 5-10 extra MHz so unless you already have ramsinks laying around I wouldn't get them, their cost IMO outweighs their usefulness assuming they're the $2 or more/piece ones.

If cost isn't any issue to a degree then I guess it's ok although a extra 4-5 degrees doesn't sound like much to warrant extra cooling unless you think it's too high a temp.

Ramsinks seem to make more difference with the new bga type memory, which you should have on the 9800 pro. Depends how much you want to push the card.

I usually turn them off, when I am testing for stability with an oc I usually leave it at whatever setting it was at before. If you want a score to compare with someone elses then turn them off.

just broke 6000 after leaving the card oc'ed overnight, its heating the case up a good 4-5 degrees F under load, would a pci slot cdooler along with a different graphics core cooler and some ramsink be a good idea?

go with a pci slot cooler like spectrum fan card by vantec. reviews on it say it dropped card temps by about 8 degrees but on the downside it's a bit loud.

if i drop the card back to stock i only score 57xx but oced to 415/360 i can get 6177 does this seem right?

i think ill get that spectrum and an iceberq 4 to cool this down, noise isnt an issue, 4 80mm intakes on front 1 on side and 2 exhaust right now + 92mm fan on heatsink and 92mm on psu and 80 on psu, its noisey but thats why i have z560's drown out the noise lol
