an oddball card you (original poster) might want to look for is the 3dfx Velocity 100. There were both AGP and PCI versions, they were aimed at "business desktops." Basically, it was a 16MB Voodoo3 2000 with one TMU disabled (in software) but a registry hack enabled it, and the card could very easily be overclocked to V3-2000 and sometimes even 3000 speeds.
I had one of these... for what it was worth they were a great deal in early 1999. They were about 2/3 the cost of a V3-2000 and were only available as white box OEM models.
