3DFX collection LOL

Only had one 3DFx and that was my Voodoo Banshee, which I was happy with at the time. Before that I had a Cirrus Logic or some POS like that, 1MB PCI non-3d card. hehe... the change to a 16MB 3d accelerated card was great.

-1 Voodoo 4 4500 AGP 32MB boxed
-1 Voodoo 5 5500 AGP 64MB boxed
-1 Voodoo 5 6000 AGP 128MB ( bare beta card)
-1 Voodoo Banshee 16MB AGP(bare card)
-1 Voodoo TV Europe version ( blue boxed)

does anyone has something close to or more than what I have collected thus far?

😀

You could get a lot of money for that basically worthless collection of nostalgic 3dfx cards and buy a real graphics card! Ok let the flames fume!

That is pretty cool. The only 3dfx item I have is a box that contained a Voodoo 3 2000 from a review card that they sent a while back. Loved their artwork so I kept the box.

is that the 3700 revision HiNT?
or does it have the intel bridge. but to me it looks a little small to have an intel bridge, that p/c is covering it up. anyways, i will trade you a that card you dont have for that 6000. (voodoo3 pci)

those beta 3dfx cards fascinate me. here are some that were never released

voodoo3 4000 (voodoo3 with 32bit colour)
voodoo4 4500 dvi (with dvi and tv out)
voodoo5 5000 pci (32mb 5500)
voodoo5 5000 agp (32mb 5500)
2X2 voodoo5 6000 (only 2 of these were made, had 2 chips on top of 2 chips)
3dfx rampage (aka spectre) 2 GPUs with a third chip as a geometry proccessor to handle true hardware t&l

Did you just offer to trade him a Voodoo3 PCI for his Voodoo5 6000?

Hahaha....

I still have my old Voodoo 2. It was probably the last great card that 3dfx produced, because Nvidia started kicking their asses after that!

Yikes, a Voodoo Rush, and a Voodoo 6000 on top of everything else. You truely are the Voodoo king.😀

i think its a 2600 Rev2
thats what it says on the box,

yeah using HINT
and no intel bridge

yup I got dressed up just for that LOL

btw, someone wanted to trade a voodoo 3 PCI with my voodoo 6000? LOL
i think its less that 30 bucks including shipping from ebay 🙂 LOL

That's truly a great collection, but you're missing the card I have: ObsidianX 24

Yes, I have it, quite an impressive card at the time, but useless now. Any takers?

Yes, any 3dfx collection needs the Quantum Obsidian X-24! I have one and it is the only 3dfx card I have. I bought it off of Ebay with box and all as a collector's item. Two 12mb voodoo2 chips on one card..... awesome!

I have a Voodoo3 2000 PCI and I will never sell it. It's more than adequate for a computer that's not going to be used for games... and I wouldn't be able to find something to replace it cheap enough to convince me to get rid of it.

I, too, have an Obsidian X-24... Too bad it doesn't work right with the reference drivers, making it useless with the hacked drivers. I tried removing the second Voodoo2 from it (Yes, easy to do) and it works great with the reference drivers as a single Voodoo2.

I have:
Quantum3D Obsidian2 X-24
Diamond Monster 3D z100 (Banshee)
One Voodoo3 3000 AGP (Retail with less-common TV-OUT w/normal game CDs)
One Voodoo3 3000 AGP (Retail w/TV-OUT & RARE misprinted Unreal CD w/monochrome Unreal Tournament label, MONTHS the official release! Included ticket to get UT free when released. Got it too. 😉)

just curious, how does the V5 6000 compare to todays cards? like an equivalent NVIDIA or ATI

Probably about a Nvidia Geforce 2 GTS/Pro or there abouts. I could be wrong, but that would be my best estimate!

if the drivers had been perfected on the later revisions, it would have probbably been comparable to a geforce2 ultra or a geforce4 mx, but a long time before the other cards had hit the streets.

btw, you guys complain about the 9800/geforcefx being $400, 3dfx was planning on selling these things for $600 MSRP
