Damn, got rid of my last one a few weeks ago for $10. A PCI Creative Labs 3D Blaster or some such thing.

Voodoo 5 5500 AGP
Haha! I have a friend who tried to sell me his last week for $30. I told him no. Another friend told me over the weekend that he just found his in his closet (in there since upgrading to GF4 Ti4200).

I still have some cards using 3dfx chipsets. I have a PCI Voodoo3 2000 with modded sandwich heatsink sitting in my desk drawer here at work. I used it back in the day... had a P3 550 (which is currently in the machine I'm typing this on). The Voodoo3 overclocked to almost 200MHz. The P3 ran at 825MHz on an Asus P3B-F BX chipset board with a 1/4 PCI divider since I couldn't get any AGP card working, the PCI Voodoo3 ran great. At home I also have a, oh what the heck was it, a Voodoo3 1000? It was a Gateway OEM and was AGP with 8MB RAM. It's currently in an unused computer with an Abit BH6 and a Celeron 566@850.

Seriously, anyone want to make me offers for this stuff? I'm pretty realistic and won't expect much for old crap like this.

Someone mention old CPUs selling for good prices? I have some here, including an AMD 8088 (along with some other stuff like 286 chips). Somewhere around here is my only old CPU "prized possession." An Intel 80186 CPU. I have no idea where the heck it disappeared to but I haven't seen it for a few years. However, I know I wouldn't have thrown it away. It was a little square ah heck, looking like one of the 80286 CPUs that sat in a square plastic thingy, and not one of those rectangular ones with aluminum legs. I think I pulled it out of a later model Trash-80. If I ever find it, I'll slap that puppy down on my scanner and get some evidence. Heck, I should do that to my collection of 8088/80286 CPUs anyways... got a bunch of them here somewhere.

The Voodoo 5 5500 AGP sells for about $45US quite regularly. The PCI version sells for over $100 still!

Rollo = hardware? Anyone remember that 3dfx flame-commando?
Blue Max, I've never been anyone but Rollo here, but if "hardware" annoyed you I owe him a beer. I'm not "anti- 3dfx" , I'm "anti-spend lots of money on useless old video cards".

Good point. It makes about as much sense as having some stupid 50-year old car... I mean, if it works at all, it's a gas guzzler and slow pig compared to a new 2004 car... ridiculous loons thinking some stupid old "Caddilac" or whatever might be collectible. Phah! Fools! The lot of them! FOOLS!!!

Yeah we all have our own points

But I just wonder if Rollo does have anything against other hobbies apart from anti-old video cards?

After much research I have done, It appears that quite a number of people do collect video cards. Now it doesn't sound that odd anymore.

I've met people in forums far more crazy then me..
they collect every possible revision of a model for 3dfx

I fish and hunt at least twice week, including bass tournaments for the fishing. I'm also raising a four year old, which takes up most of my "free time".

Probably more than my 386 33MHz proc. Maybe like, a whole dollar total.

However, NASA *does* need your 8086 processors! Dig 'em up, gents! Your space program needs your old "useless junk".

Seriously!

thats a combo card. good for multipurpose use 🙂

actually it's garbage as a combo card. there is no software to use the TV in W2K.

ouch, didnt know that part of it sucked,
yeah for a mere 1 Million triangle more then the V3 3000,
I rather buy that card instead of the 3500 if I really want to make use of it

Old computer parts that no body wants in their computer isn't ULTIMATE COLLECTION!! it is junk, I just cleaned up some parts the wife was bitching about, Slow CD's, Small harddrives, Older computers and a ton more and a big pile of video cards, Voodoo 2's, 3's, 4 and 5500's, I did put back some GeForce 3's but I don't even know what I will do with them, Everytime I built someone a computer they want things in it they can use
