Well, you pretty much guess it right. Since nvidia don't sell pre-binned gpu to any manufacturer and Albatron is not OEM for BFG anymore, BFG need to bin it themselves. To sustain a high end line, there must be budget line to dump the inventory that don't make it into the OC speed. As a result, 3dFUzion is just a line to dump the gpu that doesn't make to the OC spec of BFG branded product lines.

Its sooo tempting even though it could be a "value" series.
Keep in mind that its close to $200 cheaper than the leading 7800GTs...
And to think I just purchased my 6800GT for $30 less makes me want to cry if this turns out to be a good card/company.

According to TD there is a 1 year warranty which is provided by 3dfuzion. Looks like it's not entitled to the BFG warranty, BFG manufactured or not.
EDIT: There's also a FAQ on their webpage that says, the max resolution using the DVI output is 1600x1200...wth?
Q. Is there a maximum resolution for the DVI output?
A. Yes, it is 1600x1200

I don't know what ATI stands for...does it really matter? But like someone else said, there whole thing is "built by gamers for gamers", and most would know what BFG means in its game context, so even if it is "technically" something like "Built for Gamers" it's still a nod and a wink to that crowd.
