Jon, the cool dude I helped out in this thread,
asked me if there was any program that would help him make 3D, interactive "worlds." I don't know a thing about this stuff so can I get some leads? Thanks!

FormZ always sends me stuff. It looks pretty neat but I only do technical 3D, not fun 3D. :D

He may be better off with some game that includes a map editor. FarCry would fill that role but it requires a mighty strong PC. I can't think of any other game with a simple map editor.

Are you talking about something along the lines of Bryce? link... There is also higher end products like Terragen (free for personal use) and World Builder, but have a higher learning curve than Bryce does...

I didn't read the whole thread that you linked to, but my hats off to you for what you did....

"Free for personal use" sounds great! I'll send him the link asap. I'll also mention bryce but he's living on a limited budget. Helping the guy was my pleasure and his emails and thoughts forced me to re-evaluate my ignorant feelings towards the disabled and what they're really capable of.. So keep your hat on, though I appreciate it :)

Amazon has Bryce for $72.99... Since Jon appears to in a tough financial situation, all things considered, I would be willing to kick in a few bucks towards this if anyone else was interested in getting something going on this.

Hey Buck (or Mr. Naked),
Thanks for the offer man, while I did help the guy out I don't really know much about him. I sent him all the info that you sent me and we'll see what he says. I'm broke myself but $20 won't change my life. Before we do anything official (and I wouldnt' want to be the "bank" - I wouldn't want the responsibility) we'll see what he says and what he'd like to do. I think that free piece of software will give him something to fiddle with and figure out for now.

Thanks again for your genorisity - I'm sure that he appreciates it!

Getting a somewhat current game with an editor, such as Morrowind could work. Very huge game in itself, but you can create basically anything you can imagine. There are fish & rivers, hills & towns, people & monsters, night & day fluctuates, as well as the weather. Plus, you can always upload your creations to a fansite, & have others experience your created world.
