I am having a great deal of trouble figuring out what the deal is with 3dSound APIs.
All games today use Directsound3d or OpenAL correct?
EAX, A3D, Q3D, Macro FX, Environment FX, Multi Drive, Zoom FX, and I3DL2 are extensions that add 3d effects to APIs?
Aureal's A3D altho better then Creatives EAX is now dead. I think Creative also owns Sensaura now too. Recent alternatives to Creatives cards like the audiotrak Prodigy 7.1 LT seem to use Qsound Q3d what the heck is this?
What is the best and most widely used 3D API?
Some one please explain to me the basics of 3D APIs and the current state of the technology please!
