Right now I'm thinking of getting the 27in Acer on Amazon but I'm not sure if there are better options.

Ended up getting the BenQ 2420T and nvidia 3d vision 2 glasses. Can't wait.

I have the asus VG278 and its great. Dude, wait till you watch a good 3D blu-ray. Thats going to be a lot of fun, and yes, it works really well. I watched transformers (dark side of moon) and it was just way too sick and awesome. I mean, it actually works...like GOOD!
