3d Mark 05 Help

Hello all,

So I just slapped together a new system:

DFI Lan Party NF4 Ultra-D
AMD 64 3000+ @ stock 1.8ghz w/ Zalman 7700CU
OCZ Platinum Rev 2 PC3200 1gb dual channel kit
XFX 6600GT PCI-E
Seagate 160gb 7200RPM 8mb PATA
Antec P180 Case
Cooler Master 450w PSU

I'm not sure what I need to change/tweak with 3d Mark 2005. I am not OCing my system just yet as I wanted to first see what my 3d mark 05 scores were before OCing.

I just d/led the free version from futuremark and I believe it only runs 5 tests (3 game tests, and 2 CPU tests).

I got a score of about 2800. I don't know if that's normal or low, but for the 2 CPU tests, it ran the game demos again but it was crawling....like 1-2fps was what it was showing.

The 3 game demos were crawling too, hitting 15FPS max and mostly it was at 5-7fps.

Is this normal? Is there anything I need to change?

I am not sure which nvidia drivers I am using since I just used the isntall disc from my XFX package.

Thx for any help/input!

Your scores are perfectly normal, right where they should be for a stock 6600GT. 3dmard05 is an intense monster of a test.

Ok thanks.

But are the tests supposed to be crawling as low as 1-2fps? B/c it was just nasty slooooow on the CPU tests.

Make you feel better that my setup crawls at 1-2 fps on the cpu test too? Click my 3dmark 05 score in my sig to see all the details.
