ever since I watched movies such as 'the lawnmower man' or 'strange days' i've been thrilled by the idea of one day experiencing virtual reality
i know we're not there yet.. but with the level of graphics games coming out this year are offering.. i'd say we're almost there.. graphically anyway
the question is.. are there any helmets or glasses out there that exist currently (or projects you know of that are in development) that allow the end user to experience today's incredibly game graphics as though he was right there in the middle of it all?
a quick google search comes up with these 3d glasses http://www.edimensional.com/
they definately seem to be the best out there.. or at least.. they have the most "publicity"
has anyone tried them with recent 2005 games.. like shooters? and what you can tell us of your experience? please be honest.. there's so much hype about the effect they create on those sites that try to sell em to you or make a comission off a potential sale.. but whats' the real deal?
and are there any others? i'm really interesting in possibly buying something like that if it helps me feel like i'm right there in the game.. especially in the upcoming Oblivion.. I want to be right THERE you know!
I found this site too.. and it's got a list of VR helmets that can be bought.. but I don't know if any of em are good or better than the edimensional ones.. but check it out if you want.. cool stuff http://vresources.org/hardware/hardware2.shtml
