3D-Detection in ATITool......advantages?

Well, I just noticed the 3D-Detection in ATITool and I was wondering if anyone uses it? Is it buggy and does it have any advantages (like increase lifespan of card?)

i found it was VERY good at picking up artifacts, in fact too good It would detect artifacts when i couldn't get them happening in any other apps or games, even rthdrible...

agreed. ATItool is a nice piece of software...too bad their isn't one like that for Nvidia cards...
