Pentium III at 466 Mhz 128 RAM windows98 installed GeForce2 Ultra - only gained 7 fps over VooDoo3 2000 - troubleshooting said clear the "Extend my windows desktop into this monitor" checkbox which is under settings under the display properties under the properties shortcut menu - BUT that box is grayed out a check is there now - how can I make this available for me to uncheck it - should'nt i have gained a lot more than 7 fps? going from 16 bit color to 32 bit color the fps stays the same, also, going from 640 x 480 res to 1280 x 1024 does not make but a 1 or 2 fps difference - What could be causing this???

you should take out the Voodoo3, remove all remnants of the drivers from the registry and the system itself and install the GF2 Ultra as the main card.

what game were you playing? if the game is Unreal Tournament or Quake 3, something like that, you aren't going to get much of a boost. they are VERY CPU speed dependant, and without a faster processor, you aren't going to see any boost.

thanks for response - main game is NASCAR 4 DEMO and NASCAR Heat - both ran 20fps before installing the G Force2 Ultra now they run 27 fps not much change - something not right, have removed VooDoo from hard drive

In Nascar Heat the cpu is your bottleneck. For instance, when I run that game is super high resolutions on my Celeron 500 I do not get any lower frame rates. That is because the cpu is the bottleneck.
