I'm thinking purchasing one of these for my network, and $46 at Amazon seems a good deal.
Has anyone use it before? any problems?

It'll be used in a 1 server 4 workstation network. The server is a File/Printer/HTTP/Email server. All of them, of course, have 100Mbps NICs.

Hmm, looks like a decent switch although you can find lower cost switches with more capacity. I think Netgear 8 port switches go for around the same price that you quoted above for the 3com switch. Which version of the 3com switch are you looking at? Their website lists two Office Connect 5 port switches, one supports traffic prioritization and the other does not. Keep in mind that at this level there is going to be little to no difference between a 3com switch and a Linksys switch. Now if you were buying a 48 port Layer 3 switch then brand name should be a concern. ;)

Well, I've never used Netgear hardware, but I have used 3Com's hardware in the past and all the NICs in my network are 3Com. They work flawlessly.
I would probably go for the OfficeConnect, but I'm looking at the specs of the models from Linksys and Netgear right now, and they seem pretty interesting.

Ok, I've narrowed it down to the 3Com OfficeConnect Switch 5 and the Linksys EZXS55W.
They're both 5-port 10/100 Full duplex. The 3Com is $46, the other one only $30 after rebates...

I'm a bit undecided... need opinions.
