Didn't they announce a new stepping? Might be taking a bit to get that out to the retail channels; I noticed the Egg stock was out a few weeks back while looking for other stuff there.

Is the rest of the lineup suffering this shortage as well?

When i purchased my i3 2100 at frys where i have shopped for years the only intel chip they had available was the i3 2100 and when i asked about the 2500k and i7 2600k i was told by multiple people intel was suffering a shortage.

This was in like November so every few days i would call and it ended up coming into late December and still a intel dry spell and i gave up about 4 weeks ago.

I fear calling them up next week to check about their 2500k....

Wouldn't it be worth purchasing off a UK site if it is a guaranteed C2? Shipping / VAT couldn't run you too much more -- $100?

I would wait if i were you 🙂 Rip off britain isnt worth it, plus if you ever had to RMA then intel would charge extra for buying it in another country.
