Question 3900x vs 3900xt

Which of these 2 do you reccomend I buy? is the only difference between these 2 are that the xt doesn’t include a cooler and it is only 100mhz higher boot clock? Any other differences? If so seems like a unnoticeable difference, why would anyone by the xt? I can get the xt within $20 of the 3900x, however I am forced to buy a cooler = more money. If I do the 3900, I want to use the stock cooler if I can. If I don't like the temps, then only will I buy an aftermarket cooler. Thanks

The stock cooler isn't very good, though better than Intel stock coolers but that's a pretty low bar to overcome. It's a bit noisy and with the 3900X temperatures will be a bit high.

there is very little difference between the 2 cpus. 100mhz and a slightly better binning with a higher price and no HSF.

better off with the 3900x or a 5000 series if you can find one.

No difference and for the money a 5900x is a better buy. I get the thought process though but it lost a lot of value by not including a cooler. Its an unrealized value because most people would get their own cooler for either one. I know I did for my 3900X.

I wish I could find a 5000 series at msrp. Some are going for more than double msrp. They are got but not worth that amount.

$20 bucks, get the XT. That's an easy choice.

The 5900x is going for nearly double msrp, not worth it for me. I will watch and see the thermals of the stock cooler and go from there.

I would take 3900x, included cooler is pretty good for "free". I am currently testing (RAM) 3900x. Temps are fine. Of course if you are going to mine/fold 24/7 then you want beefier cooler. I have one (3900x) in my office PC running at 65W (88W PPT), very easy to setup in bios (same for XT version also).

$20 difference is nothing, so i would go for the XT
If you want a quiet and cooler running chip, you need aftermarket heatsink or AIO, therefore the stock cooler is not an advantage at this level.

Not only that but is likely going to cap off all core load probably quite a bit lower than a 240 AIO cooled 3900x.
