i live next to lake erie but i don't like water - only been out on it once or twice

Wow, I really want to like you, but between this post and your stance on marijuana, it is apparent that you are just a downer. I am back in the central part of this godawful state just biding my time to get away from here, and you are squandering living in a remotely interesting part of it.

If anybody has spent time up on the northern shore of MN on lake superior in the late fall or early spring. Gordon Lightfoots song has the perfect sound and lyrics for the region. Something about it is so cold, yet beautiful.

The current thought is that a rogue wave hit them.

They are predicting 20ft waves in Lake Michigan, Lake Huron, and Lake Erie for the next day. Crazy.

My wife hails from Superior, WI. I asked her if she or her family knew anyone from the EF and was amazed to be told that her stepdad was a crew member on the ship ... But for some reason was transferred to another boat before that fateful cruise.

Most of my boating experience is in the ICW around the Sarasota Bay, FL. I have caught some wicked fun swells out in the Tampa bay at the mouth of the Manatee river.

My dad's boating experience is mostly in Lake Erie, with lots of Florida sprinkled in.

Neither is directly related to this thread, but my dad claims Lake Erie is more "legit" in respect to navigating waters with lots of hazards.
