3870k ~preliminary overclocking

spoke too soon!! computer kept giving me a bsod when I only had lightroom, chrome and windows media player on. dropped the speed back to 1600 and it works fine. The ram kit is only rated for 1600 anyway so not overly bothered.
 
Managed to get my ram running at 1866 with timings at 10-10-10-24-1T. not tested stability but working fine. also overclocked the cpu to 3.2ghz. not really had to chance to try higher values yet though. I think because the Gigabyte A75-S2V is a fairly lower end board, I doubt I will be able to overclock too much

sounds like your BSOD will go away with some minor tweaks
try 10-11-10-28-1T
also, I wouldn't even boot the OS until you pass 1 complete memtest86+ run (takes 45min to 1hr)
I can get 2133 speeds stable at 10-11-10-28-2T now
only problem is my sata drives go away, and my os won't let me force ide mode yet
