Which linux do you recomend to do this with?
I had a hardware router, but i can always sell it. This might even be better cause i could run an ftp server too.

thanks

We use a 386SX as the front end for a specialized non-programmable processor that runs faster than a 20 GHz Pentium.

go to Freesco to turn your 386 into a router using Linux! I'm not talking any cheapo router that's made specifically for your DSL/Cable connection, I'm talking one that actually routes packets!

This computer is a custom-designed parallel processor made of gate array chips, and its program (some kind of optimization algorithm) is practically hard wired into it, sort of like a floating point processor's or graphics processor's. It's designed to run at up to 50 MHz (usually operated at half that speed), which should give an idea of just how inefficient general purpose computer instructions are in comparison.
