380W PSU Enough?

I've been using a Cooler Master ATC-201 case with a 520w OCZ Powerstream PSU. This is a nice combo, but the case is not the quietest (4x80mm and 1x92mm fans). I wanted something really quiet, so I just recently bought an Antec Sonata, which came with a 380W PSU. I can easily swap out the PSU, so I can use the 520W OCZ, but I'm thinking about sticking with the Antec PSU that's in the case already if it can sufficiently handle all the components that I'm using.

DFI NF3 Ultra-D with A64 3800+ oc'd to 2.6ghz with 1.65v
XFX 6800GT AGP
1x 37gb WD Raptor
1X 80gb WD Caviar
1x DVD/DCRW Combo drive
Sound Blaster Audigy 2
54g Wireless PCI
Floppy drive
Vantec Nexus Fanbus (may not be needed anymore)
2x 120mm fans

What do you think? I know that the 6800gt takes a lot of power, and I read somewhere that they recommend at least a 450w PSU for it.

That system probably draws 250 watts under full load. The Antec should be plenty. What's the 12V rail rated at on the 380?

I think it's 28A on the 12v rail. I think my 520w OCZ is rated at 40A.

Swap the PS, the modstream is a far superior PS, especially since your overclocking

It's a Powerstream, not a Modstream..and I'm aware that it's a much better PS. I just don't know if I need that much power.

Try it with the 380 and see if it works ok:)

The Antec 380true has 18a on the 12v
The Antec 380truepowerII has 16a 12v1 16a 12v2

The OCZ power stream has 33a on the 12v

yeah...that's probably the only way to know for sure.

it says on HERE that the 380W Antec PSU has 24A on the 12v rail...but you're right about the OCZ. It has 40A on the +5v and not the +12v. :)

Thats interesting, I got the specs from Newegg. And I have a hard time beleiving it has 24a because my Antec550 only has 30a, but who knows. Maybe look on the side of the PS itself?

hmmm...it looks like there are two revisions of this power supply? This review states only 18A on the +12v rail. If it's only 18A, then I think I'll go with the OCZ.

The 380 watt that came with the Sonota used to be 18A but I believe they are all 24A now. All the original reviews have them at 18a...

That's good. I just bought it, so hopefully it'll come with the 24A variety. In which case, I think I might try it out and sell the OCZ if it holds up well. :)

it will run out. it may not overclock very well.

The thing is...my processor doesn't overclock all that well to begin with. It goes to 2.6ghz, but not much more. I'm very happy with 2.6ghz though. :)
