Umm does anyone know where to get one right now that they would consider reliable? Ewiz had some but it looks like they just have manchester cores now.

thanks,

TankGuys has the Toledos, or they did, anyway.

PM TankGuys (Ben) on these forums, & he'll let you know when more are coming in, & whether they are E6 or E4.

i just talked to someone from tankguys. He said its a crapshoot on which one you get since the partnum is the same. He also told me his distrib. is out of them so he has no idea when he will get more in

I am placing another order with one of the distros today, so I hope to have a more firm ETA later this afternoon/evening. I'm betting they will still be Toledos, that's all we've gotten from that particular distributor.

Sorry TankGuy i was in a hurry or i would have ordered from you. Since most places won't gaurantee what kind of core you will get i decided to order from zzf. Hopefully i will get a toledo core if not ill just have to deal with it. I ordered a asrock 939dual-sata2 from newegg also. Hopefully i hit 2.5-2.6 on stock air.

Hey no problem, you gotta do what you gotta do!

what's difference between E6 and E4? Manchestor vs Toledo? 1mb x 2 cache?

Well actually these 3800+ Toledos have half the cache disabled, so they're still 2x512kb. But the die size is bigger on the Toledos, which means better heat disappation and better overclocks. 🙂

No it doesnt. Eventhough the die-size is bigger part of it is diabled which takes it out of the equation. The extra cache doesnt help at all in regards to heat disipation since the same amount of heat-producing transistors are crammed onto the same area and produce the same amount of heat.

What I would concerned about the dsabled cache ones are...Is it lowered in speed because the cache was bad or that it couldn't reliably hit the 2.2ghz range of the 4400+...heck it is all a crapshoot. I think both AMD and Intel get such high yields and now that both have had the 90nm up and running for a bit I think this is quite rare....

I frankly wouldn't care, but dont get conned into paying for under the notion it will be better OCers cause there is no data to support that....

I'm so confused i bought a x2 3800 this morning and it came with the code:

ADA3800DAA5CD

this means a toledo core right?

i thought manchester were better OC 's as they ran cooler

someone help
