Kudos to OP, glad it worked out for you.

When I delidded my 3770K I briefly considered using an adhesive to secure the IHS, as I was concerned the Liquid Pro might become disturbed.
In the end I did not use adhesive because I was not sure what to use.
I even swapped the motherboard with the delidded cpu from my backup machine to my everyday rig to keep from disturbing the cpu (identical boards).

Should I one day need to remove the cpu and need to reapply TIM, what adhesive is recommended?

A lot do people are doing this only to get a better overclock and have the best possible benchmarks. All of you do not concur because the reality is that these CPU overclocking business is an addiction in itself and anybody delitting their Ivy Bridge processor is taking a 200 to 340 dollar risk. Whether you neatly put it back together or not, or you lap or not lap ur IHS or you put liquid Metal or AS5 is all the same . We are all trying to cool these fiery infernal chips to get 10 percent higher than sandy with the same temps. Lets face it by the time Haswell comes around and turns out to be a faster processor even if we have to do the same to it we will all forget Ivy. So yes the only thing I disagree is that is less than 24 months before we redo our systems. It is part of this inexplicable thirst for More Powerfull CPUs This reminds me when I used to Change the headers in my 86 Corvette . I wanted to overclock that engine so that my 0-60 times would be less. This is part of our culture we thirst for the biggest the fastest the strongest , at risks that we do not realize we take everyday. Thank you IDC you explained it very well

Ok so I have the following question. I already delidded my 3770k, temps with H-100 are ok I think they stay below 70 c if I don't go beyond 4.3 to 4.5 I have reseated block several Xs. Keep in mind one of the cores is 10 Celcius cooler than the other 3. I am wondering if I would benefit from lapping the IHS or by simply putting Liquid Metal Pro on the die to the IHS and Artic S 5 or prolimatech on the IHS to HSF alias H-100. Is the surface of the IHS the culprit of the inconsistency in temps, or is it the lack of soldering? Or is it the 22nanometers too small to handle even temps? I am no expert at all I am just asking because it is all over and most people are having trouble keeping all cores within 5 Celcius . Oh one more question, is H 100 really ok or should I go to noctua I have been somewhat disappointed with Corsair, not that is terrible but it seems a little latent when it comes to cooling.

I've used this one a few different CPUs, always with good results. A lot of adhesives have acids in them, but this is a low-corrosion adhesive. I got a tube of it for $4 or so at Meijer.
