FX's also use either strained silicon or SOI; the more I think about it they use strained silicon because SOI is a feature of AMD's 90nm mfr process. This combined with the unlocked multilpliers allows greater overclocking potential than most chips. But non-FX chips already OC so much it doesn't matter a lot 🙂
