Putin is a Russian authoritarian in a 900+ year tradition of Russian autocrats. There are positives and negatives to having a competent authoritarian like Putin vs a competent elected official like Obama:
Putin is very smart, at least as smart as Obama (who is also very, very smart). Obama could've done a lot more for the US if he has the same powers that Putin does have and that Trump will one day give himself. He could've fired James Comey and other idiots heading the CIA and NSA for their involvement in the Snowden fiasco. He could've put pressure on the families of congress to end their constant meddling in legislative matters by arresting them on trumped-up charges, which happens often in Russia, and gotten any legislation he wanted. He could create country-wide security policies to prevent hacking of emails and such. He would've been a much better leader, as an autocrat.
The problem with having an authoritarian like Putin, is if you disagree with him about anything you are screwed. The other problem with having an authoritarian state is corruption, which is basically mandated in Russia and many other autocratic nations like Turkey. Russia is very corrupt, however the US has recently made up a lot of ground in that regard and is now approaching Russian levels of corruption in many states such as North Carolina and Louisiana.
The world-ending scenario for an autocratic nation is if someone as incompetent and dangerously unmoored as Trump were somehow appointed as leader. Russia was smart enough to educate its populace, so while they may not like everything Putin does, they can recognize him as a capable and competent leader who has his countries' interest at heart. America is very different, the southern and midwestern parts of the country are basically completely uneducated in comparison to Russia and they have a culture of anti-intellectualism that permeates everything they do. This lack of education prevents average americans from making accurate assessments on Trump's competency. They are literally too ignorant to understand what he is, or what is good for them... thus you get the worst of two worlds; An authoritarian idiot.

Serious question, how many mental conditions have you been diagnosed with? Autism spectrum, schizophrenia, dissociative identity disorder? If none I do seriously suggest a trip to a therapist as you clearly would benefit from prescription narcotics of some type. But I ask primarily because I try to consider the mental issues of those I interact with so as to avoid triggering their conditions.

We also picked up some new and more remarkably stupid members of the alt-right (aka neo nazis) since the election. Before we only had to deal with a couple like mr youtube poster and the resident femaphobic, now we got Mr Twilight lover fuckwit to add to the mix. I don't mind dealing with dangerous and bad beliefs, it's the stupid, obnoxious, and insane that is hard to interact with. We lost Incorruptible years ago and in the past year or so we've gained like a dozen clones of him.
