That's not the same TV.

3701p = $697 with 720p/1080i support
3701 = $1199 with 1080p support (no idea if it accepts it natively or not, haven't researched)

And yes, I did get the 'p's on the model numbers correct. Quite a crazy numbering scheme considering the model number WITHOUT the p has 1080p support.

I ordered yesterday at noon, my order still says being processed. Outpost has cancelled orders on me twice before when I got in on a deal. I'm through with them if they do it again.

I'm with the poster above. This is a stop gap from my NTSC crt until 1080p sets are more affordable. If the people on AVS forum (notoriously picky bunch) were marvelling at its value when it was twice this price, it should suit me just fine

FRYS CANCELLED MY ORDER!

argh...

It was under the guise of "Authorization Declined". I called the credit card company and Frys.com managed to put a hold on the card just fine. I know I've got about $11,000 head room on this credit card so there were plenty of funds. What BS.

Man, I was so hyped up about FINALLY cracking into the HDTV world and they take it all away. Anyone know of a similar deal?

I'd hate to impulse buy right now, but I'm so vulnerable at the moment. :(:p

EDIT: I originally typed Outpost.com...

My since of forboding is growing....

Whats the difference between outpost and frys.com? I didn't even notice this wasn't outpost as the page looked the same and my account still worked. Did they simply rename it?

Well, looking at where the links lead, they all seem to lead to shop2.outpost.com, which is the same as the standard outpost.com. Looks pretty legit to me.

Yea, Outpost.com has been Fry's online affiliate for quite a while, but just this past weekend they renamed it. On the front page they have the big "Grand Opening" message.

I got this thing and it looks great!

there was the humming with my DVD palyer, VERY quiet. But tech savvy me...it was just the speaker cables connected to the TV, hooked up and was good to go! no more hum.
