I don't understand. There ARE ALWAYS CIVILIAN CASUALITES IN WAR why are so many people complaining about this war specifically? Oh thats right - it's because Israel is invlolved..

Are you stupid or did you miss the thousands of threads regarding Iraq within the past three years? You think people people are against Israel because they are Israelis/Jewish? Is so, then you are quite deluded.

That wasn't my main point - however - it is true in most cases. Israel is probably the only army to ever excersize such restraint with it's force And people are still going "civilian casualties civilian casualites!"

If Canada started suicide bombing the US... (g-d forbid) Just think about that, I'm pretty sure the US would have been doing what Israel is doing to now a long time ago.

Brent Sadler of CNN reports that the Israeli ordnance did not even hit the building but landed "20 or 30 meters" from the structure.

There was a second strike at other targets far from the collapse building several hours later, and a third strike at around 7:30 in the morning. There too the nearest hit was some 460 meters away, according to the IDF. But first reports of a building collapse came only around 8 am.

Thus there was an unexplained 7 to 8 hour gap between the time of the helicopter strike and the building collapse.
There are other mysteries. The roof of the building was intact. Journalist Ben Wedeman of CNN noted that there was a larger crater next to the building, but observed that the building appeared not to have collapsed as a result of the Israeli strike.
Lebanese rescue teams did not start evacuating the building until the morning and only after the camera crews came. The absence of a real rescue effort was explained by saying that equipment was lacking. There were no scenes of live or injured people being extracted.

There was little blood, CNN's Wedeman noted: all the victims, he concluded, appeared to have died while as they were sleeping -- sleeping, apparently, through thunderous Israeli air attacks. Rescue workers equipped with cameras were removing the bodies from the same opening in the collapsed structure. Journalists were not allowed near the collapsed building.

Put the pieces together, it seems very unlikely that Israel is to blame.

This doesn't surprise me at all, Israel's enemies have no limits to thier propaganda.

By the way, do you guys understand that Israel is trying to neutralize people who want you dead? Will it take another 9/11 (g-d forbid) to make america understand that these people want you dead? And worse, they think they have g-d on their side. That is probably the most dangerous part about them.

Of course people are going to cry civilians. That's because they are the ones that lose the most in any conflict. Furthermore, the vast majority of people here are civilians so they can relate somewhat.

Third, if you call this "restraint", I'd hate to see what Israel would do if it let go.

Fourth, no standing army has ever won a guerilla warfare. Israel is no different. Here is a thread that I made that was locked, for reasons I don't know:

Terrorism is perhaps the greatest catalyst to the political-economy. In my opinion, it even surpasses democracy. Why? Because all forms of leadership becomes complacent, corrupt, and hostile to those that are ruled, whether they are the willing (compatriots) or the unwilling (the subjugated). Over time, the corrupt leadership becomes resented and an insurgency forms, with the tacit support of those in opposition. While some of these insurgency are non-violent, most are brutal in their vengence because of the length of abuse by leadership. These insurgents terrorize the leadership, hoping for defeat. Eventually, they ALWAYS defeat the status-quo, if not the leadership itself. This can come in two forms: One is the overthrow of the leadership while the other is the changing of directives (i.e. laws) so that the oppressed are given equal rights under the sun. However, just as in the book Animal Farm, the new leadership can become complacent, corrupt and/or hostile to the subjugates and/or compatriots, continuing the cycle of power. This cycle is perhaps a corollary to the Wheels of Fortune first described by the Greek historian Herodotus.

For those that want to dismiss my opinion, let's not forget that this nation was founded by terrorists, and their first leader was George Washington. The terrorists received financial, military, and political support from the nation of France.

Still don't believe me? Well, the first Prime Minister of Israel, David Ben-Gurion, was a wanted man throughout Europe and was head of the terrorist organization Irgun which bombed British and Arab interests.

Even the enlightened state of France rose up in rebellion against their king and then against Hitler. Those in opposition could've easily been called terrorists by Hitler or the deposed king.

In fact, I believe that almost every nation on earth was either founded or ruled by terrorists. So whether they are terrorists or freedom fighters, the point is moot. What matters is that you take their demands seriously or risk a fight that you cannot win. Americans must remember that this nation was founded and is based upon Masonic principles. In fact, the first official bird of the USA was the mythical Phoenix. What's spectular about the Phoenix is that it destroys itself in a blazing fireball, then rising from its own ashes. The allegory is that there is life in death, or regeneration. So that whatever is rotten or near death will eventually be born again. The issue for nations (the political-economy) is what the catalyst of death will be. Will it be through choice (the changing of directives) or real death? The choice is up to the leadership.

Sorry, but, this thread is a troll, as well as flamebait. I was eating, or this would have never gotten past the first reply. OP, please watch it....next time it's vacation time.

Is Hizbullah behind the tragic incident in the village of Qana that claimed the lives of some 60 people? While the Israeli army continues to investigate the circumstances leading to the building's collapse, some in Lebanon do not hesitate to point the finger at the Shiite organization and claim it is to blame for the death of dozens.

The Lebanese website LIBANOSCOPIE , associated with Christian elements in the country and which openly supports the anti-Syrian movement called the "March 14 Forces," reported that Hizbullah has masterminded a plan that would result in the killing of innocents in the Qana village, in a bid to foil Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Siniora's "Seven Points Plan", which calls for deployment of the Lebanese army in southern Lebanon and the disarming of Hizbullah.

'Disabled children placed inside building'

"We have it from a credible source that Hizbullah, alarmed by Siniora's plan, has concocted an incident that would help thwart the negotiations.
Knowing full well that Israel will not hesitate to bombard civilian targets, Hizbullah gunmen placed a rocket launcher on the roof in Qana and brought disabled children inside, in a bid to provoke a response by the Israeli Air Force. In this way, they were planning to take advantage of the death of innocents and curtail the negotiation initiative," the site stated.

The site's editors also claimed that not only did Hizbullah stage the event, but that it also chose Qana for a specific reason: "They used Qana because the village had already turned into a symbol for massacring innocent civilians, and so they set up 'Qana 2'." Notably, the incident has indeed been dubbed "The second Qana massacre" by the Arab media.

On top of the previous two articles, Michelle Malkin cuts through the Hezbollah fed media reports.

There are ALWAYS civilian casualties in war. So why do people complain about the civilian casualties caused by suicide bombers in the war between Hezbollah and Israel? Why do people complain about the WTC attack in the 'war on terrorism'? Why do people complain about the US 'accidently' hitting press buildings? Why do people complain about Israel targetting civilians on beaches, in hospitals, in UN camps, and in other places?

Killing innocent civilians is murder, and all those doing it, ordering it, or supporting it should be burned alive. Except me of course.

And I'm sure that if a few dozen US-based terrorists would fire missiles into Canada from several different US cities you'd fully support Canada bombing those cities out of existance, including the civilians in them.

There is a reason so many people in that region hate the US, and that's because their families are getting killed by US weapons purchased with US cash, and that every attempt to get some outside intervention to stop the violence is vetoed by the US.
Do you believe the US would be happy with Israel if Israel would protect Bin Laden by vetoing or otherwise stopping every action against him?

When the heck is the US going to say enough is enough? Israel seems to have a never ending bloodthirst.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War#Effects_of_war

So you're counting on the US to end all war?!? Oh- wait, that's a greeaat idea, I just wish I thought of it first :disgust:

There are a lot more dead from air strikes! Thousands dead or crippled. Women and children mainly. The weakest segments of society who move slowest. Many of the 30% of Labanon's Christians as well. Very sloppy killing of everyone. Hardly an honorable war. It's a war of vengence against the people of Lebanon.
In order to advance the "war of civilizations," Israel's traitorous leaders have deliberately inflamed and united 1.2 billion Muslims. Olmert's acts are designed to further discredit Israel, just as Bush has discredited the US. This is the reason for the obliteration of the UN Observation Post, the use of phosphorous bombs, and the attacks on ambulances and civilians, the latest in Qana Sunday. Israel's barbarism has made it a pariah and exposed it to an escalating cycle of retribution and savagery.
Henry Makow

There's a reason for the carnage in Lebanon. I'm not sure what it is and don't want to spout theories. Henry Makow and most of the rest of the World senses something is wrong in Lebanon. Things do not add up there.

I'm hearing reports of massacres done by the Israli war machine in Lebanon. Wether these are true or not we will find out sooner or later. Just like everything. Eventually the truth becomes exposed enough to see what really happened.

Are the World's Muslims being tempted into a jihad?

Has Israel learned anything from when they were slaughtered by the Nazis? Compassion perhaps? Guess not. They have 100 times more enemies willing to carry a bombpack into Israel than before this war began. People whose family has been blown away.

The basic rationale behind Israel's strategy can be found here:

A Clean Break
(note the names Richard Perle, Douglas Feith et al.)

The basic idea is:

Israel will not only contain it's foes; it will transcend them

So what we see in action is the so called New Middle East that the Bush administration is talking about is essentially a Zionist plan to control the Middle East with Force. (What was it Condi Rice said about painful birthpangs for the New Middle East can't recall the exact wording.) Fact is Afghanistan, Iraq and now Lebanon have been bombed to the Stone Age - Syria and Iran is next on the agenda. That is not speculation that is fact derived from the actions of the Bush administration.

Israel/USA is trying to put the Middle East under the Boot. The plan is simple - Stomp any challenge to Israeli/US hegemony in the region. This isn't gunboat "diplomacy" - this is Bomb "diplomacy".

The "laugh" (harhar) is on the neocons. This is nothing new, in fact it is what they have beens saying for a decade now: "Clean Break" was written 10 years ago for "Bibi" Netanyahu's government.

To quote the Clean Break plan:

An effective approach, and one with which American can sympathize, would be if Israel seized the strategic initiative along its northern borders by engaging Hizballah, Syria, and Iran, as the principal agents of aggression in Lebanon, including by:...

Of course Syria is no longer a military presence in Lebanon but the essential strategic situation remains the same - Syria is very much in Israel's (and the Bush administrations) sights.

Edit: not to speak of Iran.

And whats wrong with that? Israel should put Syria in its sights because Syria remained an enemy and shows no signs of stopping to be one.

Israel has no business controlling the Middle East, just securing itself, even by using force. I find that perfectly reasonable.

That is total BS!! The US does not approve of what the Israeli`s are doing. But we are in no position to tell them to backdown. They made it plain through diplomatic channels that all we should do is run interference until there objectives have been achieved.
In all honesty israel basically told Rice to butt out of there buisness when she visited.

Also can i have some of what your smoking???

Israel sure has a very interesting way of pissing off its neighbours. I dare say that there are a lot more Arabs in the middle east than Jews - I think that should be enough warning for these scum who slaughter the innocent.

First of all the Jews are not the scum here, you don't see Jews firing rockets aimlessly at their neighbors in the middle east while hiding/living with civilians, and then using their dead as propaganda.
"I dare say that there are a lot more Arabs in the middle east than Jews - I think that should be enough warning for these scum who slaughter the innocent."
Nice islamo fascist threat. If you don't remember, the Israelis kicked their enemies asses in every war.
I also dare say that there are a lot more pissed off americans than deranged muslims that go into buildings, airports, and movie theatres in america and shoot people or run people over with their cars randomly at people they think are jewish or sympathising christians- I think that should be enough warning for people like you who might think of doing such a thing on our soil.

What Israel wants: relative safety inside its borders.
What neighboring countries want: total destruction of Israel and every inhabitant.
If the tables were flipped in regards to military might, Israel would cease to exist in probably six hours. I support Israel.
It's like having the most peaceful caged tiger you could imagine being poked at by a bunch of kids with nothing better to do than poke a tiger because that's what their people have been doing for a thousand+ years.
