37" 1080p - $318 SHIPPED ACB, 42" 1080p - $346 + Shipping ACB (refurbs)

hard to believe people were paying 2500 for this 4 years ago and it was considered a steal at that price!

I was having a hard time passing on this until I saw the $109 s/h [to NJ] on the 42" model.

I drive my TV's off W7MC almost exclusively, so their tuners & speakers are wasted and these would've freed up one for the kitchen or guest room.

Edit: Only $108 s/h for the 37" model!

37" Model has a coupon code for $1.99 shipping.

(I've also edited the post to reflect refurb)

I'd be really leery about a Westinghouse refurb, their customer support is terrible and I wonder if these units really have really been recertified, or if these are just customer returns that weren't fully broken D:

That Asus of yours uses TN. Arguably it doesn't matter to a lot of people, but one would be hard pressed to argue TN looks better than other panels. At that size, you would already be seeing some gamma shift from top to bottom even while sitting dead on straight.

These Westinghouses use P-MVA if I am not mistaken, in which case the colors would be substantially better than what you have. Pixel pitch would be obviously lower, which may or may not matter depending how far you sit from the screen.

Thanks, I went ahead and ordered one. We'll see how 5 year old p-mva compares to modern tn.

FWIW I just last week hooked up a cheap Memorex converter box to my antenna and used the RCA outs to go to my Westy 37W3. Picture looks pretty darn good. So for an extra few bucks, these can be used to watch OTA channels.

Yep, the real deal here was the shipping. Geeks have refurbs at good prices but shipping is outrageous, effectively killing every deal. Sorry it is gone

The thing that makes me weary of a geeks display is this though:
# Disclosures:
# LCD displays may have cosmetic imperfections that appear as small bright or dark spots. This is common to all LCD displays used in products by all vendors and is not specific to any vendor or brand. Below are the acceptable amounts of "dot defects" for LCD displays that we sell:
# 42-Inch to 47-Inch:
# Total Defects: 8
# Bright or Dark Dots (random): 4
# Bright or Dark Dots (2 adjacent): 2
# Bright or Dark Dots (3 adjacent): 0
# Minimum distance between defects: 15 mm (bright to bright dots)
# Minimum distance between defects: 5 mm (dark to dark dots)

Mine came yesterday. They sent me the W3 rather than the W1 which is cool. Unfortunately the monitor was just sitting in the box with no packing! One corner had torn out of the box and was just hanging out there. Luckily, it works, and it's beautiful. Way above the Asus in pq.
