Xbox live pwns 🙂 I hate the new dash though, its 95% ads. Multiplayer is fairly easy for most games.

I don't understand why everyone says this. Sure, there are ads, but they are links to actual content, and their placement generally makes sense (although I do wish it didn't default to the Spotlight section). How else are you supposed to find out about new DLC or XBLA games? Plus, the way it's setup, I feel like it's a lot less intrusive than the ads that were on the main blade and marketplace blade on the old setup.

It's not like the dash is rife with Burger King and Coca-Cola ads or something.

Man I don't get it either. I happen to like to know what new games are coming out and what new DLC there is. It isn't like they are just commercials for Teen Spirit and Ford trucks.

I don't even notice the ads. The first thing I do when after signing in is moving up one slot on the menu to My Xbox. They are there but they certainly do not take up 95% of the dash.

I also don't think the adds are too bad either, if you remember the old blades there were plenty of adds on those too, but like the new interface they were only in certain spots.

Outsold the 360 and PS3 combined for the week of black friday 😉

Yeah true but I think most real gamers don't care about the Wii and don't count it. I don't even consider it a competitor. I mean, I know it is technically and I know Wii has won this generation but it is a last generation machine for non gamers, grandparents, little kids, and women.

Boom! Headshot!

I don't think I could be bothered to go the console fanboy thing anymore. I'm glad the 360 is adding lots of new players because that means more people to play with/again on XBL, but the PS3 is a solid machine as well. No big deal.

I understand. I own a Wii, plus the PC listed in my sig plus a 360. Yet I still play the Wii more than all those. 360 the least.

And I consider myself a gamer

There was a time my Wii collected dust but in the last few months it definitely hasn't.

I understand what you are saying, but just know that both Sony and MS disagree with you.

I think I made it clear that I know that.

I am no fanboy one way or the other, but I've had two 360's. Both of them collected dust - so I sold one and gave the other away. Yes Xbox Live is good, but I guess Battlefield 2 on the PC spoiled me so almost all the games feel childish.

I just recently bought a PS3, and couldn't be happier. All of it's functions, the "grown-up" looking UI, and the games just make it seem to be a mature home "appliance" that can rock the games with the best of them. PSN isn't perfect but it's not bad either. You get in and play the games, that's what is important.

By the way SOCOM is fixed now, MSG4, Wipeout HD, Pure, and LittleBigPlanet are a great starter library for me to offer something for everyone. I get my mature shooters, and as a family we get our fun.

Like I said, I'm no fan boy - but I enjoy having the PS3 where the XB360 was just...there.

On the topic of games I just don't see how your 360 could have just been... there. Unless of course you were only ever interested in Sony titles in which case you never should have bought a 360 in the first place much less 2 of them. 😛

I own a Wii, PS3, and PC.

Wii gets some playing time with the wife. The PC is played daily. I havent touched a game on my PS3 in 4 months. And over that time we may have watched 3 BluRay movies? Wife will use it as a DVD player only because it fires up faster than the HD-DVD player next to it. What a waste of cash.

"Real gamers"? Real gamers only care about what's fun. It's a machine for everyone, real gamers included, which was kinda the whole point of the system.

I work at Target and there are four game cases for the Wii compared to one for 360 and PS3. When I look into the Wii cases I can't help but bust out a good laugh on the middle of the sales floor.

I'm sorry, but when all four game cases for the Wii are spammed with titles like "Mama's Cookoff", "Animal Safari", "Animal Crossing", "Pet Vet", "I Love Dogz", "I Love Catz", I dont care if Nintendo sells a billion Wiis. It still wont even belong in the same conversation as Ps3 or Xbox.

Are there things on the Wii that are fun for the hard-core gamers? Sure. Should you buy it before the PS3 _and_ Xbox 360? I think not.

I don't know about that. It depends on your lifestyle I would say. I bought my 360 first and then got the Wii which was a much better choice for me than to get a PS3 instead of the Wii. The Wii has been great for me when I host parties and it gives me one more thing to do with the wife that we can both enjoy.

Hehe sorry. I call her wife sometimes because it is much easier than calling her my "domestic partner".
