36 Processes normal?

You mean turning off autoupdates? It's in the my computer properties somewhere, I think. That's kind of a silly thing to do though...

Worrying about the number of processes doesn't make a lot of sense to me. 😕

No. I have automatic updates turned off, but my computer still checks to see if updates are available. If I'm not mistaken some processses, such as the one that checks to see if updates are available, can hinder the performance of ASIO audio devices, atleast with my Emu 1212M.

Because I'm working with audio. If my audio data is not at the right place at the RIGHT TIME, then it is garbage.

Then you haven't turned it off.
 
Why worry about processes if everything is fine. Only if you experience slowdowns/other symptoms, then look at whats going on. I have 66 processes on my laptop...
 
Somebody just gave me their computer to fix and it has 112 processes at startup and most of it IS adware.

I think it's time to reformat.
