35C idle temp for E4300

I just switched my system into a new case and reseated my cooler. Unfortunately, I did not get a reading of my CPU temperature before hand. Core Temp reports an idle temp of 35C, is this too hot?

nah, thats plenty cool enough, try overclocking. dont let the idle go above 50.

It's pretty warm, not hot, but not cool either. My E4500 overclocked to 3.3Ghz idles at 25c

Is your room temp 10C? At idle the Tcase temps might be a few degrees above ambient, but the core temps should be 10-15C above Tcase.

35C idle is great for core temps.

It's about 60F around here, or 15C room temp. I'm just basing my temp on Everest readout. I heard Speedfan has some issues, but it came out about the same. Also this number is validated by the Rightmark.

By the way, I am using the CoolerMaster TX2 so it's a bit better air cooling than factory stock HSF. For the overclock, I'm having to run 1.37v vCore to reach 3.33Ghz, otherwise it won't boot into Windows.

Holy crap that's cold! Don't base other people's temps upon yours. 60F is very cold for a room.

thats exactly 1 degree below the natural temperature of a healthy human body...

And 8 degrees above standard room temperature... its rather cool.

I don't get the question. Why should idle temp be significant in any way? What is a "too hot idle" supposed to be?

I see idle as a baseline figure for how good your cooling is. It's indicative of the CPU cooling as well as the case cooling overall. If your idle temp is higher than average, then obviously your cooling is not optimized and the load temp will be higher as well.

That's is more then cool enough.
- What are your 100% stress readings?
- @ what speed are you running your cpu?
- What else did you stuff into your pc? ammount of HDs, DVDRWs, Fans, etc

I am running my machine with 4 HD's and 1 DVD RW in a mid tower Coolermaster Elite 330. all of it is a tight fit regarding my HD's and graphics. I also have a fan controller in my 5'25 bay and somehow I was able to fit in a 80mm fan between the DVD-RW and my fan controller, But I am still able to get decent temperatures on my cpu @ Idle & Load.

GundamF91, how do you walk around in your room? Clothed as thick as a Polar bear's skins?? O_O !!!
Don't know how 35C would not be optimized using the stock hsf. _Obviously_ you like your room almost as cold as a fridge -__-
besides, don't set your idle figures as the baseline. You want baseline figures, look up Intel's specs on C2D temperatures at what room temperature.

oh come on guys, you are all spoiled. 60F room temp is plenty nice. It's winter time, I dont' like having the room too hot, or you'll feel a huge temp drop once you step outside.

You should check that fact. You would be dead if your body temperature were so low.

I certainly wouldn't enjoy being in a room that is as warm as the natural body temperature. That'd be kind of hot.

I think that you have that backwards. Load temps indicate how good your cooling is. Idle temps mean little to nothing. Also, temp sensors have the worst accuracy at idle.
