Don't mind me, I'm just jealous. Very pretty, those. BTW, how hard is it to be accurate with that much kick? How about shot-to-shot time? I've only really fired rifles and shotguns, so I don't have a good comparison.

With a 6" barrel, there's almost no kick at all, even from a .357 round (most of the time I'll shoot .38 Special with it though, less expensive and less likely to over-penetrate in a home defense situation). That's one reason I like the long-barrel. It's also really accurate; if the 627 with a 5" barrel is any indication, I'll shoot about a 3" group at 10 yards once I get the sights dialed-in, which is about as far away as I'd ever be in a home-defense situation.

Shot-to-shot time is essentially zero if one fires double-action. Even single-action is damn fast once one gets the hang of it.

I'll give a full range report after Saturday's visit.

Yeah, even my .44 Magnum with 8" barrel doesn't kick all that much. I shot one with a 10" barrel a few years ago with hot loads and it was fairly mild. Of course, it's a heavy chunk of steel so just holding it up can become a bit of a challenge after a while.

It sure makes a loud boom in an indoor shooting range though. :D

Nice revolver. Personally if I was to get a 357 it'd be the 627 8 shot one.

Having shot one, I have to say that if money were not an object the 627 is where it's at. But I could buy 3 model 19's for the cost of 1 627. :p

Yeah, thats a big issue. just looked on gunbroker a few minutes ago and there is some retards wanting something like 1300 for one. a few were to be had in the 900-950 range, still too high in my checkbook.

Retail on the 627 could go as high as 1500, at least according to the rangemaster I spoke to last Saturday. I like the 627, but man... that's a lot of dough to drop on one piece.

A man after my own heart...
