As some of you know, i'm looking at the 350z and the G35 coupe. My question is : Can you fit a normal sized piece of luggage in the trunk. I travel probably once a month and need to take people to the airport frequently. My bag in question has the dimensions (all in inches) of 11W X 26H X 17L. Thanks in advance. I dont really have time to go to the dealer with my bag anytime in the next week to check.

i have the 350z and its tough putting anything in there. although i'm able to fit my golf bag, my bowling ball bag and baseball bag in there. It doesn't like anything too high.

if you like to push it in 1st gear then get the 350z, otherwise get the g35.

my questions is will my bag fit? i know the trunk space is really small. if my bag doesnt fit, then the g35 is most likely gonna be my choice out of necessity

It's the strut bar in the trunk of the Z, it kills any usable space in the trunk.

Off the top of my head, I'd say no, it probably will not fit. I can check when I get home and measure out my trunk.

that would be great if you could do that. Thanks a ton. I know the problem is the struts and i'm assuming it probably wont work, but please take a look for me. thanks in advance.

there is 1 big FAT strut bar. you can barely fit 2 golf bags in there. In fact there are instructions on the trunk to instruct you how to contort them in around the fat bar.

no reasonable luggage fits in the back, which is a blessing in my case because nobody asks me to drive them to the the airport :)

Get the G35.

Not that you care, but if it's that impractical, do go with the G35. It's basically as fast anyway, and it's far more functional, not to mention more attractive, not to mention infiniti has excellent customer service and nissan's sucks.

I agree on nissan cs. I brought my z in for them to inspect a rough idle problem I was having at 5k. I get my car back with 60 extra miles on it and them saying it's not a problem. :| I'm never bringing my car into a nissan dealer ever again.

i've driven both the cars and like the feel of the Z better than the infiniti. Its more fun to drive. a dealbreaker is the luggage thing, so i just want to know if it fits. i'll make the final decision from there.

Take your luggage to each dealership. If the salesman are giving you a hard time about wanting to try it out, find the sales manager and let them know it's your deciding factor if you want the car or not.

It's well documented. Their customer service is craptastic, whereas infinitis' is rated at top of the pile right now, or close to it. You get an infiniti loaner car with infiniti, as far as I know, and with nissan you'll get some stupid shuttle service.

you are not alone. my friend who has the g35 coupe enjoys driving mine and my other friend's Z more. i do agree with Skoorb that Infiniti CS is far superior than Nissan's CS.

Welps, just measured my trunk out. The 26" is no problem, the 17" is about the amount of space between the strut bar and the back of the trunk, and the 11" is about how high it is from the trunk floor and the bottom of the strut bar. But since the trunk door slopes down, it's alot less than 11" at the end of the trunk so you'll never be able to close the trunk.

Looks like G25 is teh win?

on the right side at the end of the trunk there is a fat bulge from the rear wiper motor also. it is rather annoying :frown:

I have the g35 it has plenty of truck space for a luggage. The seat folds down too so there is room for more than one piece.

G35 is more refined. Though the z350 convertible is sweet, but than you would definetly have no space in the trunk. If i had a choice, I'd grab the G35. More space inside, more trunk space and better CS.
