Ok i am building a system for a friend. We are coming down the the wire and he wants to order tonight. i have picked out all the componenets but let him pick the case since he has to live with it.

http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=11-144-026&catalog=23&manufactory=BROWSE&depa=1

The case looks ok to me, though i personally would prefer an ugly old steel Antec case. :D

Is this PSU powerful enough or even of a high enough quality ot power a A64 rig with a X800 pro ????

That PSU probably can power the X800 only:D You will need a more juice then that, probably like a 465 watt.

It doesn't say the brand of the PSU in that case. This is usually a very bad thing. No news is bad news.

350w is "powerful enough", but chances are that PSU isn't even close to 350w. The no-name PSU brands are infamous for lying with regards to power ratings. On top of that, they often lead to an unstable system and are prone to burn out or even catch on fire. Scary stuff for such sensitive equipment.

I would never ever ever risk a $1000 computer for the sake of saving $20 on a quality PSU. If you insist on having that case, at the very least buy an Enermax 350w PSU, it should be fine for just about any computer within reason.

You should spend 52 bucks on a psu alone, not on a case with a psu.
Its a turbolink psu, another generic brand for an average joe computer.

Pick up at least a 550w PSU. the 9800 will pull some extra juice in game play. 430w may not be enough in say Quake III. The current rig I'm running requires at least 700w. Bench testing shows it requires 740w.

550 watts? Are you insane? That's total overkill. And 700 watts? That's beyond overkill; I've never seen a PSU rated at over 700 watts.

All he needs in this case is 350 watts. Anything over 450 watts is overkill IMO.

roger that. I am going to see how the generic PSU holds out. It is a A64 system, but the X800 is supposed to run at the level of the 9800XT or cooler, plus only one harddrive and one DVD drive. I think it will turn out ok. Though if it feels really light and cheap when i get the case, i may replace it.
