3500 or wait for the Venice Chips

Anyone know how close Amd is to releasing the Venice Chips? I can wait another month for their 3700 Venice..... but any longer and I'll have to pick up a 3500. Also any speculation as to their price? I'm guessing it will be around 600-700$ seeing as how they lowered the price on the 130 micron 3800s from that level.

What's wrong with A64 3000+ $150 or A64 3200+ for $190 overclocked to 2.6ghz today???

SSE3 is useless as far as most real world applications are concerned. What else is E stepping supposed to bring/

e brings the allowance of 4gb of DDr wiht out drop down to DDR33 😉 Though I cant imagine why you would need it

Its also supposedly SOI, which should mean higher clocks...nothing is wrong with 2.6GHz, but who wants 2.6 when you can have 2.8+ 😉 Actually it'll be nice to see how high these E chips can go, might have to sell my winny 3000 off if they're promising.

The Winchesters are already SOI (Silicon-on-Insulator), the Rev. E chips are going to be using Strained Silicon-on-Insulator, or sSOI.

LOL Now I have a reason to wait - so I can plug in my extra 1 GB of DDR500 RAM

If the new Venice chips are that much better than current Winchesters, I'll probably sell my 3500+ (it's about 2 weeks old) and buy a Venice. If you need something now, get it. You can always sell it off in a couple months to help purchase a new one.
