$35 offer from discover card

I don't know if that code hanging on the end of the original URL is a referral, but in any case here's teh same deal without a code passed with it:

Discover $35 deal

By the way, this is a repost (a couple tiems over)

Nice find - don't recall seeing this posted before, so if it's a repost, it's appreciated. $35 is a nice bonus, you can always cancel the card, and if you choose to keep it I think it's the only credit card that can be used at Sam's (someone correct me if I'm wrong...)

Someone's bound to ask, so the answer is they credit $35 to your balance within about 2 months of account opening.

Too bad Discover recently watered down their CashBack bonus program. Sure, it was never a lot of money anyway, but every little bit helps.

Edit:

The CashBack bonus tiers pay less than they used to. The difference isn't much, but it's something like $5 less for the first $3000 charged. After that, it's the same (1% of charges). It is an improvement that you can now cash out in $20 increments rather than wait until the 12 month cycle is ended.

I still have and use my Discover card, but *much* less frequently than a couple years back. Another positive for signing up is no-fee 0% B.T. for 6 months, which ain't bad at all!

manly, I would of PM'd this to you, but I didn't see a PM link for you.

Watered down in what way? I don't recall getting any materials on this.

thanks!

currently i transfered all my credit cards to my discover card....and am paying 0% interest. gunna transfer all the discover stuff over to another card as soon as my 0% runs out .

It used to be (annually)
<1000 0.25%
1001-2000 0.50%
2001-3000 0.75%
>3000 1%

Now (starting 5/1/02)
<2000 0.25%
2001-3000 0.50%
>3000 1%
First 2 levels may be slightly off. Nevertheless, it's watered down.

I now use 1st USA Cashback Visa and Citibank Dividend MC. Both are 1% back from 1st $1. 1st USA can cash out every $25 and Citibank $100.

Another thing to keep in mind is that if you're like me and you do most of your grocery shopping at Sam's or Wal-Mart, you don't get the full 1% there either. It is like .25%. I am switching to the Citibank dividend card. Not only is it 1% everywhere, but there are still some places that don't take Discover. Mastercard is accepted everywhere. I use the card for everything, even paying other bills. Then I just make sure I pay the balance every month. I like being paid to use a credit card.

so..what is the best deal on credit card as far as cash back? i use discover and pay off balance each month.... what's this about citibanK?

My Sam's Club only takes Discover, nothing else except cold hard cash..............

Do what I do to beat the system: Buy Wal-Mart or Sam's gift card at Wal-Mart with my cashback Visa or MC then use the gift card at Sam's. You get 1% back to shop at Sam's. I do the same with Wal-Mart gas station. 1% back and 3 cents off gas price. I wonder one of these days Wal-Mart won't take credit cards for gift cards. 🙂

Does Citibank Dividend MC have annual fee? If not, this is a great alternative for Discover. Many resturants don't take Discover and they lowered cashback. I just got my cashback $90 from Discover.

I would like to know also... someone tell me please.

I'm currently using discover card, with $25 bonus (not $35 for me), and 0% BT till september. Maybe by that time I can transfer to another account.... while my money sits in a interest savings account. I like to pay off my debts though. Don't like feeling like I'm owing someone money..

i just signed up
but they offered me a slightly lower apr actually through the normal mail

ill just ask them to lower it after i get it so i can have the low apr and my 35 bones, asking almost always works (got my chase mastercard from 12.9 down to 8.9)

No annual fee for the Dividend Mastercard. Pretty low introductory rates too, but don't get this card if you are going to carry a revolving balance. Look for one of the 0% introductory offers that are floating around all over the place. Although the Dividend card does offer 0% on balance transfers, but they do charge a transfer fee. I have seen some offers recently with no interest and no transfer fee.

do you have their phone number? I would like to get this card. 1% cashback is great. I don't carry balance at all so high interest rate is ok with me.
