I really wish Sprint had the iPhone or Verizon did, and matched Sprint's pricing. In my area, Verizon has the hands down best coverage but they're crazy expensive. I could get the Sprint Simply Everything plan (UNLIMITED voice, text, data) for $75 a month which is ridiculously cheap compared to Verizon. I don't even use voice that much and could easily get by with 450 voice minutes, unlimited text, unlimited data for $53 a month. Too bad their coverage isn't as good and their phones stink 🙁

Simply everything plan is $99... not $75...?

Could I sign up for the phone, cancel on the 31st day pay the termination fee, + 1 month service, then use the phone with only the data plan (I believe it would be $35 a month) and use a prepaid voice plan of some sort?

Breakdown of costs:

321+175+30(activation)+85(1 month service with taxes, estimate) = $611 (perhaps $511 if the Bing cashback goes through). Is this possible?

wouldn't you need a sim for the prepaid voice? the phone can only handle 1 sim.

Now if only there were a way to combine this with the corporate discounts I'd be set.

Couldn't you go to an AT&T corporate store after purchasing, tell them you have a new line & they'd take care of your corporate discount then?

For those looking for the Iphone, they announced the 8gb model will be $99 shortly anyway.

The 8GB 3G model (don't think there will be a 8GB 3GS model) is already $99.
I'll be getting my 3GS on the 19th 🙂

I'm looking to get 2 iPhone 3G S, but I think you can only purchase 1 phone online. If I bought one online with the 35% CB, can I get a 2nd iphone at a store for the subsidized price?

No. Cashback is only for online purchases through the site. Microsoft (through bing I guess now) pays you the cashback, not ATT so going to the store they'll just give you funny looks. You can setup 2 separate cashback accounts possibly and get the 2 iphones on 2 separate plans.

Has anyone had luck getting the Bing.com cashback to work with an employee discount? My employer supposedly has an ATT discount...Thanks!

Is the discount for the monthly service or the phone? The hospital I work for has a 24% monthly discount on service, but not the hardware. I don't see a problem since MS is giving you the cash back.

The phone

Bing cashback is for hardware (phone) only. If you get any kind of discount for monthly service, keep that over any discount on phones. Over a 24 month contract the savings is pretty substantial.

If you existing att customers you can get the iphone cheaper, when I tried to upgrade it showed me:

iPhone Upgrade
As a valued AT&T customer, we can offer you an iPhone upgrade with a new 2-year commitment and an $18 upgrade fee.

Price is alright, though I'd consider springing for the 3GS if I can afford it. Now to try to justify whether an additional $70/month is worth it or not.

Just purchased my brand new iPhone 3GS through bing.com.
Let's hope the cashback comes soon! 🙂

Took nearly 2 months for me. In fact I believe 60 days is stated at some point during the process. If you get it before a month I'd consider yourself lucky.

Do the CB from the normal site, and then apply your corporate discount after you start the account.

I am aware of the corporate discounts, but they do not apply to the Simply Everything Plan that is $99.

The bottom of that webpage also says this:

"1 Some exceptions apply. No discount off Simply Everything plans."

How do you do that, just call them afterwards? Will I get the activation fee credited back to me?

For some reason, the premier website for me doesn't show the 3G S.
