$35 Can ($30 US)for Network or Computer Repair expensive?

I don't want to have this as a business but I charge a flat-fee of $35 ($30 US)for network repairs, I don't know if this expensive or not. Some people say it is, some people say it isn't it.

so I just want your opinion on this matter.

If you're only charging a CDN$35 flat rate, I've got some network troubles for you. :laugh:

I assume you mean SoHo style troubles. That's pretty good, but I'd build in a little flex room for things like "Oops, it wasn't plugged in" 🙂

Word of mouth getting you dozens more customers > taking $35 from one.

Yeah, they are just Soho problems. Normal "Joe's" problems. Wireless problems, Internet connection problems... And some computer stuff such as Adwares, Spywares...

$35 CDN is not expensive as a flat-fee. On the rare occasions I do work I need to charge for, I charge that per hour. No one complains at all.

That and I'd just fix it myself.

Don't sell yourself short, a car mechanic will charge you $70 an hour to put in a new light bulb. Personally I charge $100 an hour for consulting, $30 flat won't even cover your gas and lunch.

It's Flat-fee! which means that if the work was completed in 4 hours, the technician will only charge $30, not more.

I'm pretty sure my company bills me at $100hr.

It means you're not charging enough.

You're either selling yourself short or driving away potential customers who might judge your services as amateurish based on your rate.

Ok, I have thought about what you guys have said and I'm ready to make a Price list for different cases:

Can you suggest me the price for each case? such as:

- Network problems
- Network Installation
- New Computer configuration
- Spyware/adware/virus
- Hardware problems
... Thngs like that.
