I got a globalwin fop38 with arctic silver compund...I get 35-36 idle and 40-41 max....is this any good? My Clock is at default 900mhz...thinking about COing...did I place the HSF wrong? Should I be getting better results? And what should I OC it too? Should I do the pencil trick?

BTW the board my board is an asus a7v thanks guys

your temps are good...mine go from about 40C @ idle / cold indoors to 52C @ full load / forgot to turn air conditioner on. Mine is an OCed 1.2

I got up the FSB to 106 running at like 960mhz right now...at 1.70 Volts...should I do the pencil trick? Or should I just keep on pumping up the FSB?

I would unlock your multiplier (pencil trick) just so you have more choices in your OC. FSB can limit you by having weak PCI/AGP devices lock you up or by having memory become an issue. And its really hard to say about your temps without knowing what motherboard you have. They seem fine though.

Have fun OCing.

What A7V bios do you have?

In general, your temps are great if they're 1004 or later bios, and still perfectly acceptable with a pre1004 bios.
