345HP Hemi Dodge pickup, under $20G

Tom

Lifer
Wonder if this might not be a bit of a sleeper now that you can get the HEMI in the Dodge Ram 1500 (if you know what a sleeper is)..

Price out a short wheel base regular cab, 2wd, work special. Only options are the Hemi with mandatory auto tranny, and 3.92 axle.

Sticker price comes out to $20,905, there is a $1500 rebate available, and at least where I live I'm pretty sure it would be easy to double that which makes it $18000 for 345HP of HEMI goodness!

Cut about 3 inches off the springs..I wonder if anyone makes carbon fiber hoods, doors, beds, and fenders, for Dodge rams ?

😀

It's still a truck and drives and handles like one. And looks like one (ie, blah).:frown:

Try carrying a refridgerator or a couple of sheets of plywood in your maxima.

😉

Just curious, how much does a stock hood weigh as opposed to a carbon fiber hood?

It depends on the vehicle/how big the hood is, but on compact cars it saves about 10 lbs.

I run almost 500HP in my daily driver truck... it's a Z71 (REAL SLEEPER) not a truck with chopped springs and fiberglass parts all over it

No kidding. A better way to cut 10 pounds would be to chop off their heads.

Ok, so you'll save maybe 20 lbs instead of 10. CF hoods don't really make sense as a performance mod on near stock vehicles.

As a fashion accessory, that's another story.

Nissan saved about 45 pounds alone putting an aluminum hood on the Altima vs. a normal steel one.

Umm, that Lightning has a supercharger on it. The Hemi makes it's 345/375 stock. Throw a Kenny Brown supercharger on it then see what happens:

The Kenne Bell Hemi-Ram now makes over 500hp thanks to the addition of a 2.2-liter Blowzilla Twin Screw Kenne Bell Supercharger, a Kenne Bell Intercooler, an Optima High-Performance Battery, Kenne Bell Optimizer II Electronic High-Performance Engine Management Software, a Kenne Bell Boost-A-Pump Fuel System, a set of 16-Denso Iridium Spark Plugs and a Kenne Bell AirForce Intake Induction System.

Also, the Lightning costs $34,000.

That orange thing is one of the most hideous "vehicles" I've ever seen in real life or any other medium. Those are, bar none, the worst wheels I've ever seen.

Who gives a sh!t about what it looks like. Half of the trucks shown at SEMA look like ass. It's the hardware that matters, in this case the engine goodies.
