3400+ @ 2.9 ghz

Here's my new 3400+ (retail) running at 2.9 ghz

I haven't primed it yet but it's 3dmark stable and superpi stable.

Cooling is with an unmodded prommy mach 1.

here ya go

This is completely untweaked yet. My ram is running underspec and I know i can get at least 31 seconds.

my goal is to run at 3.0 ghz

Sorry but the results are unimpressive...
Look here for my SuperPi record 🙂
A64 3200+ DTR @2550@1.65v 2-2-2-5 1:1, vdimm @ 3.3v (2x512MB Mushkin Level II)

yes...

the default is 1.5 i believe

i increased it to 1.65 to get 2.9 ghz

at 1.525 i got it up to 2.8 ghz

these of course are not completely stable

here is a 32 sec superpi 1M run

i know i can get 31 sec... just need to tweak my xp more

here

You da man Shim. 🙂

I finally got around to testing that Sempron. Seems to OC just like the others I've had...around 2.4 ish on 1.6 vcore. Not too shabby for a sub $100 chip.

keep tweaking that monster, you will definatly get 32seconds or better with that clock. if i remember correctly my buddies stock FX53 got 34 seconds also so i'm confident you can best him by a lot.

yeah... i need to keep tweaking... i've never been so driven to tweak so much before lol...

i got 32 seconds now.... but if i could get 31 to even 30, that'd be great!

hmm...

What are you talking about? He's running at 2.9 and he hasn't even fully tweaked his ram timmings. I'm totally impressed with this OC. He's going to lay spanking on damn near every A64 OC benchmark out there. Besides he's the Shimmishim and he knows shiznit.

hah, you spent more on cooling and the case than you did on the processor and motherboard

Do that overclock on air then come talk about it. until then, big whoop.

You start at 2.4 ghz and overclock by 500 mhz with a $900.00 cooling system.

Thats not very impressive.

my 2800+ is overclocked 720 mhz on air and its 100% stable in prime95 and everything else, with memory at 2-2-2-10, 1 t command rate.

Yes, the freq. achieved is very good, but i scored better than him in SuperPI and 3DMark with a @2.55GHz CPU (DTR, 1MB cache), that was the point.
Anyway, congratulations!

2.9 is very impressive on any cooling. Doesn't matter he's on phase. Great job Shimmishim. You have skills!

2.9 is impressive but that 3dmark03 score seems kinda low. My geforce 6800 nu with unlocked pipelines and vertex shader and 350/700 gets around 10100 on a pentium 4 2.6c @ 3.3ghz

yeah i know...

but how many times do i have to say that that run was on an untweaked o/s

and my x800 was running stock settings for those run...

i could do 12k plus at 2.6 ghz... i'm sure i can do better at 2.9 ghz...

@artanis: yeah i know you did better but i'm down to 32 secons from 34... shaving off 2 seconds shows you how untweaked my system was when i posted that initial screenshot...

let's not jump to conclusions...

i bought my unit for $325.

also, i'd like to consider myself more advanced than the average overclocker so for me, it was well worth the $325 to buy the prommy unit.

i'm sure this chip is capable of 3.1 to 3.2 with a r404a modded prommy (which i will eventualy get done).
