:Q:Q!! That's the one I have. I picked it up for $40 at a swapmeet with only one side working. I popped it open and couldn't find anything obviously wrong. Man, its impossible to find information for that thing! Oh what I would give for a service manual:p Glad to hear yours is still in working condition:)

I bought mine as part of a rack system when I was stationed in Germany in 1986. I have the owners manual but no service manual. :(

It's a really cool piece of equipment.....if I could get the other side to play. Unfortunately, I think I must have misaligned something when I put it back together since the top side doesn't play right either:(

There are places that still service these machines, just highly difficult to find at times. Easier to find than places that service Betamax machines though. :(

I'd like to think between myself, 4th year EE and all the awesome engineers at work, that we could get this sucker working correctly. Unfortunately, I still need a schematic of some sort to work from. I can't find anything and I won't take it to someone since it isn't that important to me. I have a working turntable I like. This one is just cool. It has a tray load like a cd player. Very slick.
Hmmm, care to test things out on a Betamax unit with a bad regulator in the power supply and a jammed tape sensor? (It always thinks it has a tap in it, even though there's nothing there.) ;) :p

If you were in SoCal I'd take a look at it for you. You seem like a cool enough guy;)

*makes a note to load both SL-HF750 Betamax units (one functioning with dead tracking adjustment and the non-functional one) with him on his spring break trip to SoCal*

You stepped in it this time. :p

Don't forget the service manuals/schematics. I don't like to reverse engineer things unless absolutely necessary.

LOL they are not going to use it as DJ. This couple are over 50 in age and still have a huge collection of 33 records but their player broke, so i was thinking of getting them a nice player for them as a gift.
