33*c on Air! No fancy air conditioning, just plain air.

Hi.
Ive just checked my PC temps after watching the Matrix (was on C5, UK), and its reading 33*c. I just find that amazing. 33*c on air. I would have thought that was unheard of without some sort of air conditioner.
How did i do it?
I left my bedroom window open whist i was watching the film in another room, its quite cold outside probably around 3-5*c.
Unfortunatelly its now very cold in my room. So it`ll take a while to warm up.
But 33*c. Best ive seen after 7 hours continusly on.

Just thought i`d share that with you all.

good job. i noticed a great difference in idle and load temps when i changed the fan from sucking air OUT to sucking air IN to the heatsink.

i'm sorry, I wasn't talkin' about you, it was for the op. I probably can't hit below 40 with water.

I wasnt watching a dvd though.
My PC was running a few 3d tests whilest i watched a film on TV in another room, and the temp was 33*c. Thats what i was trying to point out. It was doing some heavy work, but still gave me lower temps that what many watercooling systems would give.

Heh that reminds me of some pics I've seen where people run ducts from the outside to their PCs during the winter time to "super cool" their rigs.

You're assuming your onboard temp sensor is actually accurate. I put my watercooling setup on 3 different motherboards with the same components and CPU and had the temps range from 23c-37c at idle. IMHO you should take CPU temps reported by the mobo with a grain of salt and use them as a guide.

yup, only real accurate way is to use a separate temp testor. m/b temps are just a guide, cheap little inaccurate sensors:)

Yet again, your missing the point.
I used to get about 41*c constant, load or idle(still do).
But on cold nights, when my bedroom window is open, ive noticed it dropping to around 32-33*c.
I trust my MB temps. I have a thermal sensor, a medical one that i got, and it reports the same temps as the MB.
Becides, im not bothered about if the temps are accurate or not, i was just suprised that my temps went that low after being on for so long.

I'm at 17C case right now and 25C CPU. This might be due to the dual 120mm delta's in my case and the 80mm delta on my AX-7...

What's the temperature in your room?

Right now it feels like about 69F. Case temp is never more than a half a degree above my ambient temp (130cfm of air circulating in case)

At the time of posting that 17C temp it was a bit colder in here, but I have since turned my overhead fan off.

yup, u can't be subambient without peltier or refridgeration.

Sure you can, your thermal diode just has to be off by a few degrees.

But either way, I know I am right at ambient all the time...

It's not possible to ever be at ambient with air cooling. No heatsink is 100% efficient.

I have an SP-94 w/ 92mm fan that runs at ambient temp!

With MBM and also thermal probes it reads 26* idle both case and cpu. If I open my window when it is cold out my case will drop to 19* and so will my cpu.

Case is at ambient, not CPU. My CPU is at like 26C
