Which one should i get? Both cost around the same. I already have a LiteOn DVD drive - so far so good. Is the LG better though?

Personally I'd favor the LG because I've found it to be noticeably quieter then the LiteOn 32X burner. LiteOn's got a pretty solid reputation on the forums though, and deservedly so. The drivers are quite nice overall, and audio extraction speeds are excellent if your concerned about that.
Still, overall I'd give the nod to the LG drive mostly due to it's being a relatively quieter drive and I've found LG RMA practices to be extremely good and heir drives are generally quite reliable.

Neither is a bad choice though IMHO, and it'll likely come down to personal preference between the two.

another vote for LG...built a few computer using their 12x/8x cdrw/dvd combo drives and 16x CDRWs....

haven't used the liteons so a comparison is out of the question, but i do recommend the LGs

If you want to copy your games then liteon will be better. Also check the round up at cdrinfo.com. I am not sure whether they reviewed the LG, but lite on was there.

I had a problem with one of the LG's i put in a system i built for a customer. Had to replace it with another drive. I've yet to have a problem with any of the Lite On's yet though. One thing i dont like about the Lite On's is that the tray comes out alot slower than it goes in. Almost seems cheap, but hey, they work. :D

I like my CyberDrive 32x12x48 shreds audio CDs..but if you need to backup just about "anything" the Lite-on seems to be the one.

I have an LG 32x10x40 CDRW and a 16x DVD, both are great, no problems at all.
