32x CD Burners...worth the premium over 24x??

I still own a Plextor RX-412 (4X Write, 12 Read), its an external SCSI unit. This is my second burner. My first is a HP4020i (3rd refurbished unit from HP). Maybe its time I deserve an upgrade : )

Ideas ?

My Plextor is perfect BTW, just takes 20 mins / full burn.

I disagree. My Pentium I @ 180Mhz burns more than fine at 24x. If you can't get above 16x, then you need to reconfigure something (DMA maybe?).[/i] >>

Really? So it will burn 650meg (a full CD) in around 5 mins?

Something like that. Even a CD burned at 24x doesn't require that much data, relatively. I also enable BURN-PROOF, just in case, but I don't always need it, just when I'm doing other operations at the same time.
