When they had the 8800gt when it first came out for $215 when everyone else was $299, they literally sat on the order for 3 months on me before cancelling. It was annoying because my card was charged.

Yeah, I remember that debacle, especially considering that after 3 months you could get the card at that price pretty much everywhere. Hope this doesn't happen again.

I remember this. I thought about getting one from Dell, but then I went to Best Buy and picked up one for $220 OTD. 😀 Suckers!

Well, I called them to see if I could add another one to my order. They said I could not, that I would have to wait for another sale. I asked if my current order would be shipped on time, and they said they did not have any at the warehouse, and it would be 10 days before they were in, and it would be shipped out then, and the sale price was correct.

I'm going to go ahead and give people the benefit of the doubt and write off all these posts about calling Dell as jokes.. because if not, you should be banned from Hot Deals ffs.

Oh poo - "This is to notify you that, regrettably, we need to cancel your recent Dell purchase"

Did they at least offer a gift card for your "troubles"? 😉

I got the 4, but wish I had money for about 10 more. I would be all over ebay.

I'm guessing they'll turn up on Ebay as soon as they start shipping. Maybe for those who missed out but really want one... 25% Live Search cashback at Ebay is back!!!

Anyways, if my order ships, I'll actually use them instead of flipping them... though I did consider placing another order for flipping. 😛 At $99 I could have bought out their entire stock.

I did not call, and I don't dare (I don't want to risk drawing attention to my order), but for those who claim to have done so, how is that against the rules?

In fact, it seems to be suggested by the rules:

What about ETHICS?

If you question whether a deal is real or a mistake, call or write the company, and ask. If it is a valid deal, post it. If it isn't, DO NOT post it, and DO NOT complain about it.

We're playing by the rules of Hot Deals.. not ethics. Rule #1, do not call.

oh yeah I forgot. I was in on that deal and canceled myself after the shipping date was push back a month. I forgot dell doesn't cancel orders they just push the shipping date back weeks/months which then most ppl just cancel themselves.
