32" TV From 10'

olds

Elite Member
My mother wants a 32" TV in her bedroom. She's stuck on that size because she doesn't want a large TV there. I explained viewing distance and how she is going to miss some details in the shows, she doesn't care.
My question is, is there a difference between 1080p and 720p at that distance?
TIA

I wouldn't think the difference would be discernible (too lazy to check charts) but 1080 TVs are cheap enough, and it may need to be re-purposed someday. So just get a 1080.

You need to take her to see just how small a 32 inch tv is.

just buy a 40" she will never know

When my parents needed a new TV a few years back I asked them what size they wanted. I don't remember the specific size they told me, but their reason for not wanting something bigger was that they couldn't see it anyways because of poor eyesight so the extra size would be wasted. So I got a size or two up and they were amazed that they could actually see what was on the TV for once. I didn't suggest anything to them, just did what needed to be done and they got over any prior reservations.
