With my new 8400F canon scanner I can now scan at much higher DPI than I could with my old Scanner.
My Problem is when I scan a 35 MM negative or a 35 MM slide at 1800 DPI and then enlarge it with my Adobe photo busness edition 1.0, I cant print it. I get the illegal operations warning and when I click the ok box my photo and the adobe program shuts down.
Would up grading my present video card from a ATI Rage fury 32 MB card (AGP 2x installed in the AGP Bus) to say a 128 mb video card help???

Even though I would upgrade my video card just because yours is old and way outdated most likely, it is probably not the culprit here.

Illegal operation? You should take a screenshot and post it here, or copy/paste for us to see which error you are getting. Most likely its an issue with your program that can be easily fixed.
 
Nothing that you mentioned uses the video card at all except for displaying the picture on your screen while you are working with the picture in Adobe. That's why upgrading wouldn't work. Printing doesn't use the video card and that is what is causing your error (from what you posted).

While the previous answer was admittedly short on details, it DID answer your question and a far less sarcastic response would serve you a lot better especially for a newbie.

sounds like a driver/installation issue somewhere.... Adobe, printer, scanner... ???

might want to check the website for each and see if there are updates/patches available.

What OS are you running? Windows98 loves throwing up it's hands and quitting whenever asked to actually do something?

Is your OS fully updated?

might just be you don't have enough system RAM. (system... not video)
