Do you have good experience with them?

I did with JanSport when I was in college. They replaced the backpack with a new one when the old one had a tear on the side (loose thread). I have a few Craftsman tools that made in US but I do not use them much. Not sure if the new made in china will have the same protection or not.

I've busted my vermont teddy bear a few times, they exchanged it each time no questions asked.

I've only dealt with Craftsman. Their warranty has gone to crap. The last two times I used it, they replaced my excellent condition ratchet handles with "refurbished" units that looked like the previous owners had used them as hammers. I was also given different models than what I had, so they no longer fit in the carrying case either.

Their response? Take it or leave it.

I love Amazon for having my entire purchase history from ever. I had to look up my receipt for a mouse I bought for Amex's extended warranty.

lol, same thing here except mine was for Samsonite's 3 year warranty.

I just bought a couple of Vortex riflescopes because of the warranty, they cover their used scopes as well. They really hold their retail value well.

5. Craftsman

uh huh....

what happens when the tool you buy isn't covered anymore because the store you got it from is going out of business?

*cough* sears canada...

the one here doesn't even have half of the sockets, wrenches, or screwdrivers i have bought anymore.

and the greatest thing is the craftsman branded gearwrenches i have aren't returnable because they don't have single wrenches.

not like i didn't pay a crap load of money for them.

Never had to test the warranty on CamelBak but they make damn fine products. Never had an issue with one and I don't think you can possibly put them through harder conditions then I did.

For outdoor clothing and gear, I've been faithful to Outdoor Research. They exchanged a dirty 6-year old down jacket with holes in it, for nothing! No questions asked. Hole in your gaitors? Exchange no questions asked.

Camelbak hooked me up when my Eddy water bottle top was leaky. Super easy.

I've got like 8 pairs of Darn Tough socks that are all years old and still look and feel new. I do have a hole in one - I may try the exchange route to see how faithful they are. But, they're the best socks I've ever owned, so comfy!

And I've got a couple busted buckles on my Osprey backpack that needs fixing. I just have to take photos of the damage and I can start the fixing process - for free.

I love to take advantage of these lifetime warranties, that's why I paid so much for them the first time around.

4. CamelBak

Hikers, rejoice. CamelBak’s Got Your Bak Lifetime Guarantee protects against manufacturing defects in material and workmanship for the life of your reservoir, backpacks, bottles or accessories. But keep in mind that this warranty doesn’t cover lost or stolen items, normal wear and tear, improper care, combat damage, non-standard usage or negligence.

Sometimes we have to remove the rubber spout to clean the black build-up. It's made well and so it fits snugly. It can tear easily when it's pried off (with a round spoon handle) - I hope this isn't considered normal wear and tear.

17. Kryptonite

If you’re serious about securing your bicycle, motorcycle or other small vehicle, you’ve probably looked at a Kryptonite lock. The company stands behind its products with a lifetime product warranty, which will cover manufacturer defects through normal wear and tear.

But they won't replace your bike after someone cuts through it like they show on youtube.

When we renovated our home, I put in all Kohler fixtures and most of the stuff has lifetime warranty. They've been pretty good about supporting their stuff too, until it goes EOL. They never asked for serial numbers or receipts, they just send out whatever part or replacements I needed when I had issues no questions asked.

That's funny cause I had nothing but questions from them and finally told them how I really felt and just took my jacket back to rei. Worst customer service I've experienced. I had the foray jacket (goretex) that since the day I got it would let water through. A 15 minute walk in light rain and I'd be wet under the jacket(not from sweating). Tried their customer service and they gave me nothing but run around excuses on how to "fix it". Their solution...get nikwax and apply it. Ummm no a brand new jacket shouldn't need treatment on day 1. After a dozen emails they finally would accept a rma to inspect it themselves. Shipping to be paid by me. At that I point I gave up on them. Will never buy from them again

Anything you buy at MEC has a lifetime guaranteed return policy.

I am now awared...

But my last 5 MEC bags, I gave away before they even went remotely bad. Bastards knew that would happen...

Monster cable also has an awesome warranty. I use their instrument cables, and if/when one goes, I take it to the local shop hand them the broke one, they hand me the new one, I leave.
No receipt, no fuss, no muss.
(this is in no way an endorsement for their ridiculously overpriced media cables)
