hey guys,

so i have this AMD64 machine. i've had no success in installing a 64 bit OS on it so just installed XP 32 bit which works fantastic.

what i'd like to do is create a windows 2003 or 2008 virtual machine and install exchange 2007, and realize i can't have this running this as i'm only using a 32 bit host OS.

is there no way "around" this? the system requirements page on the MS site talks about how you can have exchange 07 running on a 32 bit machine but not for production environments, what does this mean? will it still WORK on a 32 bit?

download and install vmware server from www.vmware.com.
install 64bit windows 2003 or windows 2008 server in a new VM. As long as your processor is 64 bit enabled you shouldnt run into any issues.

edit: yes exchange 2007 requires a 64bit os, there is no 32 bit flavor. as long as your VM is 64 bit it doesnt care what flavor the HOST OS that is running the virtual machines is.

No, but MS will give you a trial of Exchange 07 that's 32-bit, but it's time limited and unsupported for production.
